Is Individual Therapy what you need?

Are you finding it difficult to navigate life as an expat?
Do you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally isolated in a foreign country?
Are you curious about where your patterns come from—and ready to make meaningful changes?

Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, stress, relationship issues, or unresolved trauma, individual therapy offers a compassionate and confidential space to explore your inner world.

You Don’t Have to Do This Alone

Often, you need more than advice from friends and family. You may need:

  • A non-judgmental, attuned listener who can truly hold space
  • Expert guidance to help make sense of what you’re going through
  • A safe place to explore painful past experiences or current life challenges
  • Tools to shift from reaction to conscious response

If any of this resonates, counseling could be the support you’ve been searching for.

Common Reasons Expats Seek Individual Therapy

Do any of these sound familiar?

  • You have a part of you that overthinks, constantly replaying the same worries
  • You feel conflicted inside: part of you wants to engage socially, while another part feels resistant, anxious, or guilty
  • You struggle to express your needs clearly to those close to you
  • You’ve tried traditional talk therapy but are seeking deeper transformation
  • You rely on coping behaviors like food, alcohol, distraction or work to manage emotional pain
  • You’ve had a plant medicine, psychedelic, or retreat experience that you want to integrate
  • You’re curious about the Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach or if EMDR can help you understand your inner landscape and create lasting change

Why I Believe in Therapy: My Personal Story

As a child, I was quiet and observant—what I now understand as hypervigilance. I made friends easily and was known for being generous, but I also carried intense anger that would flare up without warning.

Though therapy was encouraged in my family, my struggles went unnoticed because I seemed to be doing well. It wasn’t until college that I began therapy to explore day-to-day challenges and relationships. Later, I returned with a deeper focus—working through my inner critic and understanding how my upbringing shaped my beliefs and behaviors.

I’ve always been someone others confided in, and becoming a therapist felt natural. But it was my own deeper healing—learning to recognize and care for the different parts of myself—that truly transformed me.

Therapy isn’t always easy. It can be messy and painful. But it’s also freeing. The ability to pause, to respond instead of react, can change everything. That’s the kind of deep, meaningful work I now support my clients in doing.
